Storypearls, LLC was officially registered in February of 2016 by children’s author, storyteller, and songwriter, Sydelle Pearl, who often incorporates a map or globe into her presentations. Storypearls presents author programs and residencies to children in preschools, child care centers, elementary schools, and after-school programs. Three words sum up the mission of Storypearls: imagination, culture, and kindness.
Sydelle Pearl has published books in genres including multicultural folktales, biography, and historical fiction. She creates Teacher Guides to accompany her books. A professional storyteller for over twenty years, Sydelle has her Bachelor’s in Education. She received a Master’s in Library Science from Simmons College and has worked as a children’s librarian. She has performed in schools, libraries, and festivals. Sydelle received fiscal sponsorship in August 2016 from New Sun Rising.
Sydelle has presented at international and regional conferences such as the International Board on Books for Young People Unites States Regional Conference, the International Reading Association Conference, the Literacy Symposium at Monmouth University, the Massachusetts Reading Association Conference, the National Catholic Education Association/Catholic Library Association Conference, the Pennsylvania School Library Association Conference, the Pittsburgh Association of Education for Young Children Conference, and the Virginia Hamilton Conference on Multicultural Literature for Children.
