Elijah’s Tears received a Moonbeam Children’s Book Award Bronze Medal in 2025, appeared on the Best Books List of the Bank Street College of Education in 1998, received a Storytelling World Honor Award, and appeared on the American Bookseller “Pick of the Lists” in 1997.

Wordwings received a 2019 Storytelling World Honor Award, a 2018 Skipping Stones Honor Award, a 2018 American Folklore Society Accolade, a 2018 Royal Dragonfly Award, and was named a 2017 Notable Book by the Sydney Taylor Book Award Committee of the Association of Jewish Libraries.

Dear Mr. Longfellow was named a PSLA (Pennsylvania School Library Association) Top 40 nonfiction title for 2012.
